Emmanuel is a Partner in the Projects Group.
Emmanuel’s practice focusses on project contract documentation, including all forms of construction contracts, and operation and maintenance contracts, supply and offtake contracts, power purchase agreements, concession agreements and ancillary documentation such as direct agreements and performance security reviews.
He has experience in the energy, infrastructure, oil & gas and mining & commodities sectors and regularly advises on projects across the UK, continental Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He has special expertise in the renewable energy sector (solar, onshore and offshore wind, biomass, energy from waste and hydro projects).
Emmanuel has also been independently recognised for his expertise by leading legal directory Chambers UK 2022, where he is ranked for non-contentious construction matters. He has also been recognised in Legal 500 UK, where clients said “Emmanuel Ninos has been central to the success of major contracts and we look forward to continuing to work with him.”
Emmanuel speaks fluent English and Greek and conversational French.
- Burbo Extension Ltd, a consortium of Ørsted A/S, Danish pension provider PKA and KIRKBI A/S, on the construction aspects of the sale of transmission assets valued at approximately £193m to Diamond Transmission Partners BBE Limited pursuant to the OFTO regime.
- National Bank of Greece on a >10 year €371m non-recourse acquisition financing to a consortium comprising Snam, Enagás and Fluxys to fund its acquisitionof a 66% stake in the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator S.A. for €535m.
- Vortex, a European renewables platform managed by the private equity arm of EFG Hermes, on its circa £470m acquisition of a 365 MW UK solar PV portfolio from TerraForm Power, one of the largest UK solar portfolios.
- A BlackRock owned project company on the EKF-backed construction financing for the 160 MW Tellenes wind farm in Norway, including the PPA with Google, listed as one of Inspiratia’s top ten most significant renewables deals of 2016.
- A leading EFW contractor on bidding for the EPC contracts for the Protos EFW project and the Newhurst EFW project in the UK.
